FitFamilyRadio — radio website redesign with live stream and chat with the hosts

An internet radio station for the whole family needed more than just a new look. We built a modern website and the technology layers around it that turned the site into a living place where people listen, read and shop.

FitFamilyRadio - the new radio website after the redesign
The new radio website after the redesign — player, schedule, content and e-shop all in one place.

Starting point

The original radio website could no longer keep up with what the station was actually doing. The stream and the conversation with listeners lived outside the website, the design felt older than the content, and any change to the site meant waiting on a technician. The goal was clear: turn the website into the radio's main home base — one that people can listen to, read and manage without outside help.

What we built

Live stream and chat with the hosts

The most important part of the project was integrating the thing that makes a radio a radio — the broadcast. We embedded the stream so that it is always within reach: playback continues as you move between pages, and listeners can always see what is currently on air. On top of that we added a chat that lets listeners react live, send shout-outs and talk to the hosts in real time. This created the kind of interaction that used to happen on social media — now it sits right next to the player.

E-shop and admin panel

So the website could also generate revenue, it got its own e-shop — product selection, cart, checkout and an order flow that fit both the design and the function of the rest of the site. The entire website and e-shop are managed through an admin panel we built for the radio team: adding a post, editing the schedule or changing a product is a matter of a few clicks, not a ticket to a developer.

How it turned out

The result for the client

The radio got a website that matches what it actually does. Listening, reading and shopping all happen in one place, interaction with listeners has moved straight onto the site, and the team has its content and e-shop under its own control. The website stopped being a static business card and became a tool the radio genuinely uses every day.
